1 - CHECK CURRENT BID PRICE
Check current bid price for the scrap, as it is not sealed. When bidding, all bids are accepted, both below and above current bid price. There are cases when the value of scrap materials is negative, meaning the seller may have to pay the buyer to accept the scrap. In this case, a minus sign will be set in front of the bid start price. As bids are placed, the bid amount will move towards zero and may cross over to a plus value. NOTE: Other bidders will be able to see the current highest bid price but never who placed the bid.
2 - CONSIDER AUTOBID
Consider autobidding. Autobidding means that the system will bid on your behalf up to your maximum limit, but it will always bid the least amount possible to outbid other scrap buyers. Autobidding can save you time in the bidding process.
3 - ASK QUESTIONS
You may contact sellers with questions about their materials. To do this use the “question tab” on the auction page. Note that all questions and answers will be posted on the website.
4 - A WINNER IS CHOSEN
Be aware that the seller can pick any bid as the winner. The highest bid does not necessarily win, as the seller can also take into consideration the reputation of buyer, intended use, and destination.
Do not attempt to contact any sellers outside of this site to finalize a transaction. If you fail to comply with this restriction, you will be banned from all future use of this site. Also, be aware that all bids on waste and recyclable materials made on Waste-Outlet are binding!
We will send you an email when you have placed a bid and again if you are outbid. We will also notify you by email to let you know if you win or lose an auction. Waste-Outlet takes no responsibility for external factors that might prevent or delay our emails from reaching you. Please make sure that your email provider does not route the emails to your junk folder.
